A 4-star hotel in the Lot et Garonne: a delightful picture of colour, luxury and modernity.
Nestling in a 23-hectare (56-acre) green setting, the Stelsia brings a fantasy universe to the village of Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot that not even the wildest dreams could imagine.
The Stelsia, a 4-star hotel only 5 minutes from Villeneuve-sur-Lot, promises you an exceptional stay at the heart of a true luxury resort.
Luxury and chic sophistication characterize all the suites and bedrooms, whereas the individual paintings and sculptures create a unique atmosphere in each one.
Château Lalande: 700 years of history
Built at Saint Sylvestre-sur-Lot in the middle-ages, the Chateau is marked by more than 700 years of history.
Originally a fortified farm, the property has evolved with its successive owners. During the 16th and 17th centuries building work began to construct new main buildings and towers. In the 18th century the windows were completely redesigned in arch style. In the 19th century, the estate passed via marriage to the Dordaygue family who erected a building at the south side. The whole property was restored in 1992 before becoming a luxury hotel. However, in 2008, the company who ran the hotel went into liquidation and the estate fell into a state of neglect.
A new lease of life has been given to the chateau by Philippe Ginestet, local man and owner director of the Gifi group. In 2011 he purchased the estate and, with his friend and architect Jacques Bru, decided to create a unique hotel complex. Several months of work was necessary to get their audacious architectural project up and running and thus give birth to this exceptional place.
The Stelsia’s architectural project: colours, luxury and enchantment
Imagine a medieval chateau rethought by two magicians. The first, Philippe Ginestet, a well-informed business man, wants to make the luxury hotel industry less complex. He’d like to bring generosity, good humour and playfulness to the luxury hotel industry. The second, an architect of a thousand talents, wants to create a unique work: a painting mixing colour and nature with a childlike, carefree attitude. A work of art which even redefines the role of architecture: to give life to bricks and mortar.
And, it’s the colour that makes the property’s heart beat. A tribute to mother nature with the 7 colours of the rainbow and an allusion to innocent drawings done by children, the building’s walls radiate good feeling. At first glance, guests cannot avoid the emotion yielded by this place. As if by magic, the colours inspire a smile, a ‘wow’, a firework display of internal happiness.
Owner Philippe Ginestet : “Our aim is for every one of our guests to rediscover their childhood spirit; we want to surprise and stand out from the crowd, for everybody’s enjoyment. The Stelsia is a UFO in the luxury hotel industry: it has all the attributes and services necessary for a demanding international clientele, but it isn’t like any other establishment in the world.”
Jacques Bru : “The Stelsia is like travelling through a rainbow. Suddenly life is more beautiful, more colourful. Staying at the Stelsia is more than choosing a luxury hotel, it’s living an experience; that of being yourself.”
The ‘joie de vivre’, the desire to share rare and privileged moments, to let yourself be carried away by the energy and spirit of the ancient stones which murmur their story (when we open our ears)… The Stelsia is open to all, from the business client needing a customised stay to a family wanting a fun-packed break. Whether they be children or grown-ups, everyone has the right to enjoy the Stelsia’s magic.
